The 59 Danelectro reissue electric guitar is based on a guitar first released in 1959 and sold through the mid-'60s. Just because this guitar is inexpensive and a bit wierd looking' doesn't mean the Danelectro 59 is not a serious instrument. The 59 Danelectro guitar features professional-level playability, intonation, and electronics with twin lipstick single-coil alnico-powered pickups, 3-way toggle switching, die cast tuners, and master volume and tone controls . The Danelectro 59's nut is made of aluminum and contributes to the twanginess and uniqueness of tone that the Danelectro guitar's were known for. In addition to sitting in a nut slot, the nut itself is screwed into the top edge of the fingerboard. The 59 Danelectro is a guitar that will withstand the gigging-life and be instantly recognized by veteran musos thanks to high profile usage by the likes of Jimmy Page in Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd's Syd Barrett.
